LOVE OF LIFE - JOURNAL

:-o first journal entry on here!!!! anyways, life is going alright. i had to re-dye my hair as the black was fading from it. i am a natural blonde and i had wanted to go black for a while, and in may of this year i finally did it! also watched some beavis and butthead with my momma. its one of my favorite shows, and i think i prefer it a little more over king of the hill. yesterday i read the 120 days of sodom, and i have to say, i really enjoyed it! marquis de sade is really good at descriving situations even in the simplest way possible with lists and lists of various scenes of peoples sex and torturous activities. i'm not sure what i will read next, but i got lots of books under my bed that i had stolen from the basement (can you believe my uncle had a copy of the darwin awards? what an edgelord). anyways, on friday i am heading off with my dads side of the family to go to cincinatti. we're gonna see my great grandma!!!! i love her!!!! i'm SO gonna steal some books from her when we're over there. shes got mountains and mountains of them everywhere. her house is cozy, and i really like it. she has an old orange cat named buttercup who has a cleft lip and a fucked up ear. she is so cute, and she really doesn't like anyone else except me and my great grandma. she loves to sit with me on the bed i sleep on (mainly because that's where she usually sleeps) and gets very excited when she sees me. everyone else, however, she swats at and sniffs. silly cat. but other than seeing her, we will go to the usual places we go to in cinci. jungle jim's, record store, talk of the town, maybe the library as well. i don't know if we will be able to go to the art museum, but that's another one of my favorite spots there! my dad and i are also planning on going to the aquarium, if possible. overall, i am super excited to go, as always. for site updates, i added the about me section and the journal section.

well, we made it to cincinnati! nothing much else to say, i got harassed by the cat. i'm pretty sleepy right now, not even on my laptop LOL. i'm totally coding this on my ipad. anyways, nothing too crazy for site updates. i added my buddy ian's site button. he has a cool site!! go see it if u haven't!!! well, i'm probably gonna go goof off for a little while longer before going to sleep.

back at home! technically got home yesterday, but i passed out on the bed and went to sleep pretty early. jesus christ, i needed that rest.
well, first of all, i had fun of course, but there was some stupid shit that kept happening. i was experiencing horrible menorrhagia. i was having to change my pad and tampon almost every hour the first few days i was there. i've never had a period that was that heavy before, even when i was very young and having heavy bleeding. it was awful. i felt so tired all day and i had extreme clotting the size of my hand. i'm probably gonna go to the doctor for it soon. i don't know what had caused it. probably some bullshit to do with my iron deficiency or me taking new vitamins, or it's something else like a hormonal imbalance that i am unaware of. i really hope its not something like endometriosis!!
second of all, around the last few days of the trip, i was having some really bad headaches. i still have one. i don't know what's up with that either. but, besides that, i had a good time as always! i got some records from the record store and i got some new shades and some earrings. the vintage/costume store there, talk of the town, is my favorite store ever. i'm always so amazed (or, gagged, as the queers say) by the cute things they have from the 40s and 50s. i would buy some berets there if they weren't 50 fucking dollars!!! i don't have that kinda money mang!!!! i think the coolest thing i saw there when we had went was this awesome rob halford-esque hat with chains on the front. it was so cool. i would buy it, but it's not really my style LOL. at the bookstore (it was the friends of the public library, we didn't get to go to half priced books or barnes and noble this year :-( ), i found the first volume of the darwin awards to go with my second volume! and at the record store, they had some cool stuff as always. i bought 2 records, one for the great annihilator by swans, and one for fabulous muscles by xiu xiu. the CDs i had bought were streetcleaner by godflesh, lust by lords of acid, and god in three persons by the residents. i was looking for stuff by acid bath, but they didn't have the album i wanted, when the kite string pops. i also searched for some releases by today is the day, specifically temple of the morning star or willpower, but they didn't have em! fudge!!
the aquarum and jungle jim's were the biggest partsof the trip. the aquarium was awesome. i of course got some pics with the moon jellies, my twins! the taxonomic name for moon jellies is 'aurelia aurita,' and it is where i had got my artist name. my mother didn't name me after it. she named me after a book, i don't remember which one. i also got to pet some stingrays and some starfish :-) the sea cucumbers and anemonies got some pets too! and omg, the sharks were awesome. at jungle jim's, we bought the usual shit we buy from there. candy and some fruits, we skipped the pop section this time. we wouldn't drink them. overall, i had a good time, and buttercup the cat gave me some lovins, and some scratches. ouch! and yes, i did steal books from my grandma. she had a book of the black by jean genet! i took it. and i took the feminist book sisterhood is powerful, along with a book about flappers and a book about comedy.

hi everybody!! nothing super new to talk about right now. i bought a bunch of new books and some CDs the other day and i'm super happy with my haul!! some people may say it's crazy to buy a bunch of books but i don't care!! i love books and i love reading. my mom and i are planning on going over to the coralville library on friday since theyre giving out some books they don't have room for. the best part? you get to pay what you want!!! you could pick out 20 books and pay 5 bucks if you wanted!!! we might not find anything good, but who cares. you never know. my mom and i are kind of hoarding books right now. she just finished setting up her library down in the basement and it's super duper cute. she's got a bunch of books i wanna steal from her. nineteen eighty-four, lolita, ready player one, etc. and i promise, one day, even if it takes my entire life, i will read almost all of them.
in other news, i've been pretty into jean genet recently. i got a copy of the thiefs journal (alongside art sex music by cosey fanni tutti, my idol, and the pain journal by bob flanagan, my other idol) and i am very excited to read it!! i also bought his play, the balcony, while i was at half priced books. i like jean genet, he is so awesome, has such an interesting life story, and we share a lot of the same views on different world topics. he's an epid queer and leftist icon. i also read a little more of good omens today, i really like aziraphale. it makes me laugh that he owns a bookstore just so he can have a giant collection of books and purposeflly steer people away from his store so that they don't buy anything. i also finished the first chapter of closer by dennis cooper. the book is so familiar to me, in a way. the book is from perspectives of young gay men in the 80s, but even as someone who is not a gay young man in the 80s, rather an androgynous (⚦) homosexual in the Now (20s), it still hits very close to home in my navigations of queer culture both online and in RL (real life). i like when books are like that. they are reminiscent of a specific time in history, but can still feel relatable today. 'timeless' as some people would say.
